Amanda was assigned the story Like a Pebble In A Pond.

Created with the mode of children’s illustration in mind, this textile diorama includes a series of handmade textiles objects featuring, knitting, embroidery, crochet, all hand sewn together. The boat is a symbol of rescue, filled with love and care offering the passengers safety and security together. Ripples of crochet, lace trim and silk ribbon merge from the pebble skimming over the water. In the air, two swallows dance among the decorated clouds. Hope is found in the shrouded sky. The characters are finger puppets, to highlight that anybody could find themselves in such a situation and to help evoke an empathy for the experience by allowing the viewer to place themselves in someone else’s shoes.
