Marina Simmons

Marina was assigned the story Someone To Do Things For.

When I read Someone To Do Things For, I felt a warmth towards the idea of community. The story was very touching in the idea that even during a pandemic people realise that people are always going to be there to help especially during tough times. In my piece I wanted to represent how ongoing a community is and how there aren't "office hours" within a neighbourhood, for this I broke my art up into noticeable chunks to represent the different days, the different hours and struggles. I used hands to represent the idea of lending a hand and reaching out for help.
